Service Description
Veteran assistance provides grants to military members and veterans with certain permanent and total service-connected disabilities for the purpose of constructing or modifying a home to meet their unique housing needs. The ultimate goal is to provide a barrier-free living environment that affords a level of independent living that the veteran or service member may not otherwise enjoy.
Eligibility
Military members and veterans with a permanent and total service-connected disability, who have experienced one or more of the following conditions: - Loss of or loss of use of both arms and/or both legs - Blindness in both eyes or only light perception - Certain severe burns - Certain severe respiratory injuries For additional eligibility information, contact sahinfo.vbaco@va.gov
Application Instructions
Fill out and submit VA Form 26-4555 at www.ebenefits.va.gov or call 1-800-827-1000 to have a claim form mailed to you. For a full list of qualifying renovations, please contact sahinfo.vbaco@va.gov
