Service Description
National Runaway Safeline, formerly known as National Runaway Switchboard, helps keep America's runaway, homeless and at-risk youth safe and off the streets including those who identify as LGBTQ. The crisis line is answered by experienced front-line team members ready to help runaway teenagers to go home or teenagers at-risk of becoming a runaway. The crisis hotlines is available 24 hours a day throughout the United States and its territories, including Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and Guam. The crisis line is funded through Family and Youth Services Bureau in the Administration for Children and Families, US Department of Health and Human Services and donors, corporate partners and foundation grants. All services are anonymous, confidential and free.

Eligibility
Runaways wishing to return home must be between the ages of 12 and 20 years old or those who just need to talk.
Application Instructions
Runaways wishing to return must call crisis line, explain their situation and answer a few questions to see if they qualify for a free ticket back home. Runaways not ready to call, can place a post on website's bulletin board (www.1800runaway.org), send an email or start a live chat. It's anonymous, confidential and free.
