Service Description
Assists victims of domestic violence in seeking a dissolution of marriage from their abusers and educates them regarding safety planning and access to community resources. In some circumstances, it may provide representation in the dissolution of marriage proceeding and determine issues involving custody, child support, distribution of marital property and alimony. Representation is not guaranteed and assistance may be limited to legal advice, brief services or pro se assistance.
Eligibility
Individuals residing and their legal issue is located in the following counties; Alachua, Bradford, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette, Levy, and Union, or have a referral from the legal services in their community. Domestic violence victim income eligibility varies depending on the grant.
