Service Description
Provides guide dogs for vision loss, service dogs to help shift the focus from trigger and trauma to calm, facility therapy dogs for individuals being treated in military medical facilities, and gold star family dogs for those who lost a loved one in the service.
Eligibility
Active, retired or inactive military personnel with PTSD diagnosis by a licensed health care professional; must be at least 18 years old; must be working in concert with either the US Dept of Veterans Affairs or a Wounded Warrior Advocacy Program; have a written recommendation submitted by a licensed mental health professional, a VA caseworker or Wounded Warrior advocate; and veteran cannot have any felony convictions. Must reside in one of the 48 contiguous United States.
